How  did Jefferson know?

John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the White House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at the time. He made this statement: "This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

Especially read the last quote from 1802.

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.

Thomas Jefferson

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. Thomas Jefferson

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.

Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans it they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Thomas Jefferson

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

Thomas Jefferson

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. Thomas Jefferson

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

Thomas Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time.

the  blood of patriots ana tyranny

Thomas Jefferson

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful ana tyrannical.

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

'Banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.'

There is a spiritual famine in the land. In these truth-starved days, we must be bold and exclusive in our proclamation of God’s Word.

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. —11 Peter 2:11

Thought

This world is not our destination. This world is not our home. This world is the place of our journey! Many things here can distract us from our goal and destroy our desire to complete our journey. These kinds of distracting and sinful desires are actually at war with us. However, through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can say "NO!" to them. We can live with confidence and character before our world trapped in darkness desperately needing God's light.

Prayer

Forgive me, holy God, for my failure with sin. Empower me, almighty God, so that I may grow closer to your character and holiness. Help me, loving God, to live a holy life attractive to my friends, family, and neighbors, so they may come to glorify you by living your life, too. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

I did not write this, but I came across this and it hit me hard.

Barely the day started and... it's already six in the evening.

Barely arrived on Monday and its already Friday.

... and the month is already over.

... and the year is almost over.

... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed.

... and we realize that we lost our parents, friends.

and we realize it's too late to go back...

So... Let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time...

Let's keep looking for activities that we like...

Let's put some color in our grey...

Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.

And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy with serenity this time we have left. Let's try to eliminate the after’s...

I'm doing it after...

I'll say after...

I'll think about it after...

We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours.

Because what we don't understand is that:

Afterwards, the coffee gets cold...

afterwards, priorities change...

Afterwards, the charm is broken...

afterwards, health passes...

Afterwards, the kids grow up...

Afterwards parents get old...

Afterwards, promises are forgotten...

afterwards, the day becomes the night...

afterwards life ends...

And then it's often too late....

So... Let's leave nothing for later...

Because still waiting see you later, we can lose the best moments,

the best experiences,

best friends,

the best family...

The day is today... The moment is now...

We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away.

So, let's see if you have time to read this message and then share it.

Or maybe you'll leave it for... ′′ later "...

And you'll never share it....
